Ambassador & Outreach Committee Volunteer

We are currently recruiting volunteer ambassador and outreach committee members who are active members in their communities passionate about investing in the next generation of changemakers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys engaging with schools, students and organizations working with youth to promote and share information about Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank.

Description: Will, with the help of PBPT staff, develop a targeted outreach list where natural connections exist to help share information via email, phone and in-person events about the PBPT program. Outreach committee members will receive standardized “scripts” and email templates in addition to relevant information to assist them in becoming a PBPT ambassador.

Time Commitment: 0.5-2 hours per week on an ongoing basis.

Event & Development Committee Volunteer

We are currently recruiting volunteer event and development committee members who are passionate about sharing, promoting or making connections in support of youth philanthropy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating meaningful experiences through a variety of events and activities.

Description: Will, with the help of PBPT staff, assist a group of their peers in developing and implementing an event and fund development plan. Event committee members will receive standardized language/templates to assist them in their efforts.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week through March 2018.

Grant Review Committee Volunteer

We are currently recruiting volunteer grant review committee members who are interested in reviewing inspiring and innovative community betterment applications from youth in 7-12th grades who reside here in Palm Beach County. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who has a significant depth of knowledge in the philanthropic and social issues facing Palm Beach County in addition to someone who enjoys conducting research, assessing issues, organizations and projects in order to make grantmaking recommendations.

Description: Will assist a group of their peers in evaluating 5-15 applications. Each judge will be paired with a partner (teams of two) and will score on our evaluation criteria: community impact, solution creativity, feasibility, sustainability and team/partner strength.

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week over a 3.5 week period that runs from the end of November 2017 – middle of December 2017.

Coaching Committee Volunteer

We are currently recruiting volunteer coaches who are interested in working with young philanthropists to prepare them for their live pitch at our main event. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others craft and communicate their message, perfecting presentation skills and working with youth to encourage, support and coach them so they feel confident for their live pitch.

Description: Will assist a student or group of students (up to four members) build a strong program presentation along with the assistance and guidance of PBPT and Maltz staff. Coaches will receive additional guidelines but are expected to:

          • Provide leadership
          • Build confidence and provide encouragement
          • Assist students with creation of presentations
          • Provide feedback
          • Act as a role model

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per week over a 6 week period that runs from the end of January 2018 – start of March 2018.

There will be a series of weekend workshops leading up to the final event that coaches will be encouraged and at some points required to attend. We are happy to share those specifics as soon as we have them.

This is a limited time commitment. However, if you enjoy your student’s project we’d be happy to have you continue your engagement throughout the year.

Impact & Data Committee Volunteer

We are currently recruiting volunteer impact and data committee volunteers who are enthusiastic and skilled in developing and assessing organizational and impact measures for the nonprofit sector. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is an analytical thinker who can lead a new nonprofit in making data-driven decisions.

Description: Will, with the help of PBPT staff, assist a group of their peers in developing and implementing organizational, performance and student measures. Volunteer should be proficient in data collection and analysis. Volunteer should thrive in organized chaos and be willing to jump in and help craft and guide a new nonprofit in establishing its data foundation.

Time Commitment: 0.5-2 hours per week on an ongoing basis.

Pro Bono Graphic/Logo Designer for Student Projects

Our students are busy implementing their community betterment projects and many of them are working to brand their projects and themselves. This is an excellent opportunity for someone well versed in graphic and local design to give back to the community and assist our students in promotion and sustainability and therefore increased impact and benefit to the community.

Description: Will work with 1-3 students/teams to aid in creating logos and/or informative brochures.

Time CommitmentDepends on number of students you’d like to work with and scope of project.
