One Pickle and Pepper at a Time
It has been a very busy and successful few months for Isaiah Dingle with his program Explo-Foods!
Isaiah, a student at Mergenthaler High School and a 2020 Philanthropy Tank Baltimore Awardee, has built multiple hydroponic systems to grow fresh food for the Baltimore City community!
Throughout March, Isaiah has started ordering seeds for his program along with compiling a list of other possible crops to grow as his hydroponic systems develop.
With the help of Civic Works, a nonprofit that strengthens Baltimore’s communities through education, skills development, and community service, Isaiah has found a way to transport and distribute goods and the crops he grows to the community. Civic Works has even gone a step further by permitting Isaiah to use their facility to harvest, clean, and store produce.
